Cedars-Sinai/ Ellis Eye Clinic Position

The Department of Optometry at the Ellis Eye Clinic of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center has openings to join our staff. This is a volunteer position. Doctors generally attend clinic two mornings per year with an average number of patients is 3 or 4 per day. The role of optometry continues to expand within the health care system and this is a rare opportunity to advance our stature by working alongside other medical professionals in a hospital setting. Once fully accredited, you also have free parking at Cedars. The application fee is $100.00. There will be no other fees once you are on staff. The application process can take about 1 year and can be challenging. Currently, the credentialing committee requires that applicants have been previously employed by other medical professionals and that they are willing to write a letter of reference. They will ask for a paystub, W4, or W9. Additionally, all doctors must have their own malpractice insurance. The optometry clinic has a rich history of serving patients who cannot otherwise afford optometric care. Many of these patients also are getting ophthalmological care. Over the years, several influential optometrists have contributed to the clinic. We hope you will consider joining our team.
